It is never easy to visit a church for the first time so we want to be as helpful as possible. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey you are welcome at any of the Christian Church locations. Everybody is invited! The Christian Church is a safe place regardless of your background. We invite you to come and look around. Below are some commonly asked questions:
How should I dress?Wear what is comfortable to you. Jeans and ties are equally welcome.
Can I get a ride?Yes! To request a ride from our bus ministry simply contact the church office.
How long is the service? The worship service will last between one hour and one hour and fifteen minutes.
Do I need a Bible? Many people bring their Bibles to follow along during the message. However, if you don't bring a Bible the words will be projected up on the screen. If you don't have a Bible we would be happy to get you one.
Can someone pray with me?Yes! We believe in the power of prayer. Just grab one of the leadership team members, someone is always available to pray. You can also ask for prayer here, ask to meet with a member of the leadership team here, or by marking the Connection Card during the worship service.
What's the deal with the Connection Card? Each week we ask everyone to fill out a Connection Card. This helps us take care of and communicate with visitors, regular attenders and members.
Is there music?Yes! We have live worship teams who lead each service in worship songs. The style of music is up to the team that is leading that particular service at that particular location for the week. We aim to sing songs that lead our hearts toward God.
Worship is encountering the living God and being spiritually renewed by His presence. The worship service is when we gather together and worship God in community.
Worship in SongWe begin the worship service by singing songs that turn our hearts towards God.
Worship in the WordAfter singing we hear a sermon that is from the Bible. The preacher explains the author's intended meaning of the text and how it is applied in today's culture.
Worship through the Lord's SupperThe "Lord's Supper" or "Communion" is the focus of the worship service. This is where we reflect on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. The bread represents Jesus' body which was "broken" on the cross. The juice represents Jesus' blood which "covers" sin.
We invite anybody who trusts Jesus for their salvation to participate. As the trays are passed down the rows, take a piece of bread and cup of juice. Hold on to these because we will receive these together. During this time the preacher will lead the congregation in directed prayer and conclude by having the congregation eat the bread and drink the juice.
Worship through OfferingAfter communion we receive an offering. This offering is used for accomplishing our mission. This money is also used to support the ministries that we support as a church.
Closing SongWe conclude the worship service with a final praise song.
Worship in PrayerPrayer is threaded throughout the worship service.
Please feel free to stay after the service for a time to connect with each other. Coffee and refreshments are available in the back of the sanctuary.
